Elizabeth + Gary – Merion Golf Club

  • By Beck Photography

I was happy to be back at The Merion Golf Club, this time just weeks before the US Open.  Elizabeth and Gary had to be on top of the wedding plans, as the golf club was changing by the day with bleachers, tents and golfers playing their practice rounds. In true fashion, Tara at the club made sure things went smoothly. The rain, however, did not stay away except for a brief 45 minutes after we arrived, just enough time to squeeze in some quick formals in the beautiful quarry at Merion.

I love this shot of the bridesmaids watching Elizabeth get dressed.  All dressed in pink, with a pink camera no less!

The colorful decor at Elizabeth’s parents house was great for photos as it complimented the great color choices Elizabeth had made for herself and the bridesmaids.

The guys hamming it up while getting ready.

Elizabeth had asked me to make sure I captured her Dad helping her from the limo, so we made sure the limo driver was not the one in the photo, which often happens.  It’s too bad it was raining but I like the addition of the umbrella in the photos!

I received an email from Elizabeth earlier this week to let me know that sadly her grandmother had passed away. As a photographer, I am so grateful that I can provide my clients with meaningful photos, especially ones that hold such significance and memories.

One of my favorite shots of a bride and her dad!

Adam Scott, winner of the 2013 Masters was playing a practice round during the cocktail reception.  While many of the guests turned to look, some of Elizabeth’s bridesmaids wanted to walk over to say hello.  They didn’t get very far before the staff at The Merion Golf Club stopped them.  I admire them for trying!

Elizabeth chose sand dollars as the place cards which were then replaced by hand written notes from the guests.

Ok, the whole Barbie and Ken theme had me in stitches. Not only was there a likeness to Elizabeth and Gary, but the third set up was perfect with them as the US Embassy Power Couple.  Elizabeth and Gary are living and working at the US Embassy in Athens, Greece.

Elizabeth’s sister and Maid of Honor Caroline, caught the bouquet!
