It’s not often that I get the chance to do some personal shooting when I am out of town on assignment.  The weekend the MLK Memorial was being dedicated, I happened to be shooting in DC for Living Beyond Breast Cancer.  My assistant and I were poking around for something DC like to do and thought that with Occupy DC, the MLK dedication taking place on Sunday and just the usual rally/march/protest spirit that accompanies a trip to DC, we would find something happening at the Washington Monument.  We arrived a few minuted before MLK’s son was speaking to a group  of Union supporters. Wow, great timing.  Following the speech, the group marched to the statue and along the way, groups from Occupy DC and others joined the procession.  While I shot many rally and protest photos, this one seemed to encompass my spirit that day.  I love DC!
