Susan + Phil

In 2010 I shot Katerina and Seth’s wedding at Glen Foerd. Susan, Seth’s cousin was a bridesmaid in their wedding and so when Phil asked her to marry him, they called to see if I was available. It was fun to see some of the relatives I had met earlier and to meet new ones as well. Susan and Phil chose Northampton Valley Country Club for their ceremony and reception and while it did rain in the middle of our formals, the sun was out by the time they tied the knot! Here are a few highlights from the day.

I first met Angela and AJ last July when they came to talk about their June 9, 2012 wedding. They were planning a big celebration – getting ready at AKA Rittenhouse, a church wedding, big bridal party, formals at 30th Street Station, The Art Museum, Broad Street and ending at their reception site, The Ballroom at The Ben. AJ’s family was traveling from Nigeria to join Angela’s family for the big day. Lots of organizing would need to happen to make it all run smoothly. Of course, me getting to ride in the Rolls Royce sealed the deal as far as I was concerned about being their photographer! June 9th was a widely popular wedding date this year and there were other couples interested in the day. I was really happy when they turned their car around after leaving my studio and came back and booked.
During the year leading up to the wedding, they came to one of my art openings where I was showing my non-silver photography. It’s always nice to get to know people I will be photographing as it allows me to understand them better, therefore making photographing them easier. Angela and AJ were easy to get to know. It was no surprise when they later agreed to let a cameraman from NewsWorks shadow us on their wedding day, to film a piece A day in the life of a Philadelphia wedding photographer.
I hope you enjoy these images as much as I enjoyed making them! Many thanks to Heather Fowler for once again being a fabulous second photographer and Dave Tavani for making me look good in his images for NewsWorks.
